پس، از اين بيانات معلوم شد که اگر در آخر لا آخر طلعتی بيايد و قيام نمايد بر امری که قيام نمود بر آن طلعت اوّل لا اوّل، هر آينه صدق طلعت اوّل بر طلعت آخر می شود زيرا که طلعت آخر لا آخر قيام نمود به همان امر که طلعت اوّل لا اوّل بر آن قيام نمود. اين است که نقطه بيان، روح ما سواه فداه، شموس احديّه را به شمس مثال زدهاند که اگر از اوّل لا اوّل الی آخر لا آخر طلوع نمايد همان شمس است که طالع می شود. حال اگر گفته شود اين شمس همان شمس اوّليّه است صحيح است و اگر گفته شود که رجوع آن شمس است ايضاً صحيح است. و همچنين از اين بيان صادق می آيد ذکر ختميّت بر طلعت بدء و بالعکس زيرا که آنچه طلعت ختم بر آن قيام می نمايد بعينه همان است که جمال بدء بر آن قيام فرموده.

Shoghi Effendi Translation

From these statements therefore it hath been made evident and manifest that should a Soul in the “End that knoweth no end” be made manifest, and arise to proclaim and uphold a Cause which in “the Beginning that hath no beginning” another Soul had proclaimed and upheld, it can be truly declared of Him Who is the Last and of Him Who was the First that they are one and the same, inasmuch as both are the Exponents of one and the same Cause. For this reason, hath the Point of the Bayán—may the life of all else but Him be His sacrifice!—likened the Manifestations of God unto the sun which, though it rise from the “Beginning that hath no beginninguntil the “End that knoweth no end,” is none the less the same sun. Now, wert thou to say, that this sun is the former sun, thou speakest the truth; and if thou sayest that this sun is the “return” of that sun, thou also speakest the truth. Likewise, from this statement it is made evident that the term “last” is applicable to the “first,” and the term “firstapplicable to the “last;” inasmuch as both the “first” and the “last” have risen to proclaim one and the same Faith.

The last outstanding Tablet revealed by Bahá’u’lláh, written around 1891 and addressed to Shaykh Muḥammad-Taqí of Iṣfahán. It calls upon that rapacious priest to repent, quotes the most celebrated passages from Bahá’u’lláh’s own writings, and adduces proofs establishing the validity of His Cause.

Revealed in late 1871 during a period of severe hardship in ‘Akká, this Tablet takes the form of an anguished dialogue between Bahá’u’lláh and God. Questions about the sufferings of the faithful are answered with divine assurances, building to a crescendo of triumph over tribulation.

Shoghi Effendi described it as a volume whose perusal would deepen the spirit of devotion and faith.

Revealed in Adrianople and addressed to a believer named Aḥmad, this Tablet has been invested by Bahá’u’lláh with a special potency and significance. Its central imagery draws on the metaphor of fire and water: “Be thou as a flame of fire to My enemies and a river of life eternal to My loved ones.”

Revealed during a visit to Mount Carmel, this Tablet addresses the mountain directly and prophesies its future as the world spiritual and administrative center of the Faith. Shoghi Effendi designated it one of three foundational Charters. Its imagery of the Ark and the dwellers therein prefigures the Universal House of Justice.

Seventy-one Arabic and eighty-two Persian aphorisms revealed around 1858 while walking along the banks of the Tigris in Baghdad. Originally designated the “Hidden Book of Fáṭimih,” Shoghi Effendi described it as a marvelous collection of gem-like utterances occupying a position of unsurpassed preeminence among the ethical writings of the Faith.

‘Abdu’l-Bahá

Written by ‘Abdu’l-Bahá in three parts between 1901 and 1908, opened and read after His passing on 28 November 1921. Shoghi Effendi designated it the Charter of the New World Order — the mightiest instrument forged to ensure the continuity of the three ages of the Bahá’í Dispensation.
